6. Qualifications for Jobs Involving Electrical Hazards

Given the importance of this hazard in the activities of some of the Companies belonging to the ISASTUR Group, the Firm possesses specialised authorised personnel to carry out and/or supervise certain tasks involving an electrical hazard.

Several types of qualifications have been defined following the guidelines set out by Spanish Royal Decree 614/01 regarding minimum Health and Safety Protection regulations for workers against electrical hazards, as well as a series of minimum requirements to obtain these qualifications. All this is summarised in the following chart.

The Organisation thus aims to fulfil a twofold objective:

  • Apply current legislation to the activities it carries out, in particular Spanish Royal Decree 614/01.
  • Ensure that only duly trained and qualified personnel carry out especially hazardous tasks resulting from the presence of electrical hazards.

The following table present a summary of the qualifications for existing jobs involving electrical hazards, the jobs these qualify the person concerned to carry out and the requirements to obtain said qualifications.

• Assisting qualified workers in the measuring, testing and checking of High Voltage installations (in accordance with Appendix IV, Spanish Royal Decree 614/2001)
• Manipulation of High Voltage installations (in accordance with Appendix IV, Spanish Royal Decree 614/2001)
• Preparation of jobs in the vicinity of Low Voltage installations (in accordance with Appendix V, Spanish Royal Decree 614/2001)
• Carrying out and supervision of work in the vicinity of High Voltage installations (in accordance with Appendix V, Spanish Royal Decree 614/2001)

• Manipulation, measuring, testing and checking of High Voltage installations (in accordance with Appendix IV, Spanish Royal Decree 614/2001)
• Replacement of High Voltage fuses, always applying the remote working method (in accordance with Appendix III, Spanish Royal Decree 614/2001)
• Preparation of work in the vicinity of High Voltage installations (in accordance with Appendix V, Spanish Royal Decree 614/2001) – Foreman or Works Supervisor only.

Remarks: (1) It is not necessary to fulfil both requisites, fulfilling one is enough.
