ISOTRON-SACYR secure several substation projects in Chile

Grupo ISASTUR continues to expand in the South American country

The commercial agreement between Isastur ISOTRON and SACYR, signed in 2015, yields relevant outcomes. In this case, three projects, included in Decree 373 Bids, have been awarded to the Joint Venture formed by both companies.

The contracts, awarded under EPC terms, add up to a global amount over 62 Million USD. They include various upgrades over the 220 kV main system. At Puente Negro – Candelaria (for Colbún), the Joint Venture will implement a new state-of-the-art series capacitor bank in 220kV. At Parinacota-Cóndores (for Transelec and Transemel), both substations will be upgraded. Finally, at Puerto Montt – Melipulli (for Transelec and Saessa), a new GIS substation will be built at Melipilli while Puerto Montt substation will be upgraded.

Both ISOTRON Chile and SACYR Industrial Chile will engage some of their extensive local resources to undertake the works, which begin immediately and will be carried out during the next 24 months

These new awards, together with 220 kV substation and lines project at Nuevo Encuentro Crucero (new Kimal substation project), which was awarded to the Joint Venture last May and is currently in the engineering phase, add up to over 79 Million USD backlog of ISOTRON-SACYR Joint Venture in Chile, confirming its position as a key player in the region for energy and power transport grid projects.
