3. Action in the case of an accident

If, despite all precautions, an accident occurs, action is to be taken in the following order:

  1. 1. Try to keep calm.
  2. 2. Secure the surroundings so as to avoid new accidents.
  3. 3. Inform the Works Foreman (Supervisor, Team Leader).
Otherwise, request instructions from the ISASTUR Group’s Personnel Section (tel: 985 980 104), via the emergency telephone numbers displayed on site huts and offices, the site emergency telephone number or the mutual insurance society (whose telephone number figures on the Firm licence).
  4. 4. Aid the injured person following the rules of First Aid, transfer him or have him transferred to one of the mutual insurance society’s Healthcare Centres (making sure to take the Medical Assistance Form) or, depending on the perceived seriousness of any injury, to the nearest Health Centre.

The Works Foreman should act as follows:

  1. 1. Ensure that the injured person receives medical assistance as quickly as possible.
  2. 2. Inform the Works Supervisor.
  3. 3. Fill out the In-house Accident Report and send it urgently to the ISASTUR Group offices.

If going to the Mutual Insurance Society for assistance, the worker should:

  • Take the corresponding medical assistance form signed by his Foreman to the mutual insurance society, which will guarantee he is given the free medical care to which he has a right.
  • Forward the medical certificate justifying sick leave (or not) to his foreman or to the Personnel Department within 24 hours of receiving it.

The following tables summarise the roles and responsibilities of each member of the Firm in the case of an accident or incident (an accident without personal injuries) occurring.
