10. Hazards resulting from the use of chain pipe vices
Most important hazards:
- Parts or materials falling when handled.
- Knocking against objects.
- Becoming trapped by the bench vice or chain.
- Projected particles.
Preventive measures:
- Have the necessary tools and materials on the work bench.
- Ensure the part is properly secured in the bench vice or chain.
- Use tools in a good state of repair.
- Employ appropriate lighting in the work area.
PPE to use:
- Safety helmet.
- Safety footwear.
- Safety gloves.
- Safety goggles (against possible projected particles).
